What is a Nurse Life Care Plan?
Life Care Planning is a comprehensive process that evaluates an individual’s current and future medical, rehabilitation, and support needs often following a catastrophic injury, chronic illness, or disability. Life Care Plans provide a detailed roadmap of anticipated care requirements, associated costs, and resources needed to maximize quality of life and long-term well-being. Nurse Life Care Plans are developed by qualified registerd nurses using medical records, clinical assessments, and evidence-based standards. Life Care Plans are often used for care coordination, financial planning, and legal matters involving personal injury or disability.
Medical Cost Projection
A Medical Cost Projection is an evidence-based report prepared by a Certified Life Care Planner that identifies and estimates the future costs of medically necessary healthcare services - including treatments, medications, equipment, therapies, and supportive care related to an individual’s injury, illness, or disability over a defined period of time or life expectancy.
Unlike a comprehensive life care plan, a medical cost projection focuses primarily on the financial valuation of future medical needs and is commonly used in personal injury, medical malpractice, workers’ compensation, and disability litigation.
